Agreed Order of Modifications

The Court entered an Order on June 22, 1970 requiring the Claiborne Parish School Board to take reasonable and neccessary steps to terminate the operation of a dual school system and to operate a non-racial system of public schools. The Order contained specific provisions addressing: student assignment and attendance; majority-to-minority transfers; attendance outside of the system of residence, staff assignment, hiring, promotion, and demotion; transportation; and reporting requirements related to extra-curricular activities and other matters.

District Policy Manual

This policy manual is an overview and summary of the Claiborne Parish School Board's policies currently in effect. It may also contain some regulations and/or procedures. Nothing contained in this policy manual or any verbal statement about the provisions of this manual shall constitute creating any type of employment contract, express or implied, nor is any information presented intended to make any commitment to any employee concerning how individual employment action can, should, or will be handled. The information contained in this policy manual is subject to change at any time as deemed necessary to ensure effective application of the policies of the Claiborne Parish School Board. While the Board will normally attempt to provide employees advance notice of any change, the School Board reserves the right to alter these policies, regulations, and/or procedures at any time without advance notice.

FERPA General Guidance for Parents

The following guidance provides parents with general information about the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). This document is a compilation and update of various letters and guidance documents previously issued that respond to a variety of questions about FERPA. While this guidance reflects our best and most current interpretation of applicable FERPA requirements, it does not supersede the statute or regulations. We will attempt to update this document from time to time in response to questions and concerns.
