Master Teacher, Homer Junior High School

Positions:  10-month

Application Deadline:   June 10, 2026, at 4 pm 

Position Qualifications: Hold a valid teaching certificate, Master’s degree preferred (but not required) with at least three years of documented successful teaching experience, including experience with regular and special education students as measured by performance evaluations, a portfolio of work, some experience in mentoring teachers, demonstrated expertise in content, curriculum development, student achievement and assessment, as measured by a collection of the teacher’s work in each area. Applicants should have graduate work, work experience, or extensive professional development in the areas of team teaching, mentoring, supervision, and strategic planning. Technology proficiency required- proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets and G-Suite preferred. Candidates will be required to demonstrate before the interview committee their teaching skills utilizing the 5-Steps of Effective Learning through the presentation of a pre-developed professional learning community/cluster session.  

 

Roles and responsibilities: Applicants will analyze school-wide student data as a basis for co-developing school plans alongside the school-based instructional leadership team. Oversee planning, facilitation, and follow-up of cluster group meetings during professional growth blocks. Team-teach with colleagues and demonstrate/model lessons utilizing individualized coaching plans for all teachers. Observe and provide peer assistance and coaching towards meeting teachers’ Individual Growth Plans goals. Evaluate teacher performance using the Louisiana Educator Rubric, conduct follow-up post-conferences following all formal observations, and develop/utilize differentiated coaching plans. Participate in all LER training and become a certified LER evaluator. Attend all professional development meetings facilitated by the district, and/or support specialists. Uphold and adhere to all roles and responsibilities as outlined in the formal employment contract.

Literacy Interventionist 

LOCATION:  Summerfield High School 

QUALIFICATIONS:    

Educational Degree: Bachelor's degree in education.

Teaching Certification/License:   A valid teaching certificate or license.  

Additional Endorsements or Certifications Preferred:   Reading Specialist Endorsement

POSITION: 10-Month

JOB GOALS: Responsible for providing individual or small group instruction to students who are academically struggling with reading and writing skills.  This position will also help develop literacy skills and increase reading capabilities through utilizing high-quality literacy materials, reading programs, and various resources.  The position requires collaboration and supporting parents, teachers, the instructional leadership team, and the district leadership team.  This position supports student achievement in the area of English Language Arts, with special attention to reading.
